About the Apiary

In 2019 it all started with two hives to add to the garden which multiplied to four. The next year six became fifteen. Bees not only pollinate crops but also produce honey and beeswax.

I graduated with a Biology Degree from Virginia Tech in 1991 and retired from the Army Reserves in 2015. I discovered I liked the challenge of bees even working out in the heat and possibly getting stung. 

 

Where possible I prioritize using materials made in the USA and/or sustainably made.
